Betty and Adam's wedding was held at the lovely Tivoli Terrace in Laguna Beach. This was our first experience with Tivoli Terrace, and we were very impressed! The venue is beautiful and the staff is exceptional.

The ceremony site is a garden patio filled with flowers, fountains, and romantic lighting. The reception site includes a gazebo which displays the wedding cake, park lamps, and more flowers!

For Betty's bouquet, we included lavender roses, lavender spray roses, purple lisianthus, purple freesia, lavender scabiosa, purple tulips, purple stock and green dendrobium orchids. The Maid of Honor's bouquet was designed with similar flowers on a smaller scale.

The boutonnieres and corsages used some of the same flowers and were wrapped in purple organza ribbon.

The arrangement for the place card table also included Bells of Ireland and ivy. We added curly willow to the arrangement on-site.

Small arrangements adorned the candy table. We added hot pink Gerbera to complement the bright candy colors.

There is something so sweet about seeing a father give his daughter away on her wedding day!

Criminalists Set Sail Aboard the Queen Mary

Last week, we designed the flowers for the California Association of Criminalists (CAC) banquet to be held in the Queen's Salon, aboard the Queen Mary. The luxury liner is a historic stationary ship, permanently docked in Long Beach, California, and is a floating museum of the beautiful Art Deco style of the 1930's. The prolific wood paneling, sharp design lines, silver fixtures and Greek artwork transport visitors back in time to the ship’s heyday. Large photographs of famous passengers adorn the enclosed Promenade Deck—Bob Hope, Cary Grant, David Niven, Sir Winston Churchill, and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

To keep with the art deco style, we started with silver trumpet vases, and then chose flowers that would have been popular in the 1930s, including mums, orchids and carnations. These wonderful vases are made by Vacuum Orna-Metal. We started with green amaranthus, orchids, mums and curly willow. We then added our color using roses, callas, carnations and alstroemeria. Lastly, we filled in with hypericum (coffee bean), creating lush and colorful table arrangements.

The banquet was held in the Queen’s Salon—a beautiful art deco show piece of high ceilings, marble fireplaces, etched mirrors and hardwood floors. We also provided orchid and curly willow dried arrangements as a backdrop for the stage area. The flowers were lovely in this stunning room!

It's Prom Time!

We had the honor of making corsages and boutonnieres for Prom. The flowers we used included Phalaenopsis Orchids, spray roses, and Waxflower for the corsages. The boutonnieres were designed with miniature Calla Lilies and ribbon matched to each date's dress. The corsages were especially fun to make, using the Fitz Design bracelets. The corsage bracelets come in an array of styles and colors, and make the corsages even more elegant and beautiful!

Rebekah and Brenden

Rebekah and Brenden's wedding and reception were held at the beautiful Edwards Mansion in Redlands. Although the weather wasn't cooperative for an outside ceremony under the gazebo, the wedding was still lovely held in an enclosed patio, and surrounded by twinkling white lights. The vintage chapel was also a nice backdrop for photos!

Rebekah's colors were lavender, purple, green and blue. Her bouquet consisted of blue Hydrangea, purple Lisianthus, green Dendrobium orchids and dark blue Delphinium.

The boutonnieres included Dendrobium orchids, Lisianthus, Veronica and green Amaranthus.

The corsages were designed with green Cymbidium orchids, purple Lisianthus and Veronica.

The head table main arrangement included blue Hydrangea, Bells of Ireland, dark blue Delphinium, green Dendrobium orchids, Plumosa and hanging green Amaranthus. The side arrangements were full of lush Hydrangea in six inch square vases and anchored with blue and clear stones.

Early Summer Wedding

We recently designed some bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres for an Orange County wedding. The bridesmaids' dresses were a rich midnight blue, which was striking against the blues, purples and greens of the flowers.

We used green cymbidium orchids, light and dark blue Bella Donna delphinium, lavender and purple lisianthus, lavender freesia, lavender mini calla lilies, Bells of Ireland, Blue Maine limonium and green Kermit mums.

The Bridesmaids' bouquets also had yellow spray roses added. We love these colors together!

Outdoor Wedding Reception

We had the pleasure of designing fall-inspired table arrangements for an intimate wedding reception at a local private home.

The arrangements included Gerbera, sunflowers, roses, miniature carnations, hypericum and mums.

Similar flowers were used to adorn the three-layer cake and the throw bouquet, which were both wrapped in satin brown ribbon.

Marlene and Jason

Marlene and Jason were married at the beautiful Green Mountain Ranch in Lytle Creek, at the Mountainside Gazebo. Their main colors were brown and white. We added some green to compliment the other colors.

The aisle was decorated with tulle draping, white dendrobium orchids, and chocolate brown satin ribbon.

The ceremony arrangements included calla lilies, orchids, roses, agapanthus, amaranthus, and curly willow.

Marlene's bouquet was comprised of standard and miniature calla lilies as well as ivy. The Bride's Maids' bouquets were made of standard callas left on long stems, and the boutonnieres were created with mini callas.

The reception arrangements contained submerged flowers and a floating candle. We thought the cake from Cucamonga Cakery was stunning!

Brandy and Augie

This was another beautiful wedding at Green Mountain Ranch in Lytle Creek.

Brandy's bouquet included cream Vendela roses, light pink Vanity roses, peachy-pink Andean Crystal roses, white spray roses, and a collar of verigated Pittosporum. The junior Bridesmaid carried a matching bouquet in a smaller size, and both were finished with a chocolate double satin wrap.

We decorated the gazebo in ivory tulle, with an arrangement of roses, asters, curly willow, daisies, plumosa, and a heart-shaped grapevine wreath.

Similar flowers and more tulle draping adorned the aisle chairs at the ceremony.

Heart-shaped grapevine wreaths were decorated with fresh flowers for the the walk-thru arch and the head table arrangement.

We especially enjoyed designing the flowers for the cake, which was created by Cucamonga Cakery in Rancho Cucamonga. The combination of the lovely cake with the beautiful flowers made it a stunning accent for the reception Pavilion.

The cakery's attention to detail was exqusite! (And from personal experience, we can also tell you that their cakes are indeed delicious!)

It was a pleasure to create the flowers for Brandy and Augie's wedding and we wish them all the best on their new life together.

Today was the Annual Easter Egg Hunt in the city of Rancho Cucamonga at the Central Park. We decorated the arch that was used for the photos taken with the Easter Bunny. There were lots of kids there and they had a great time! For more photos of the event, go to the Vineyard Press.

The city's Central park has beautiful facilities that can be booked for wedding and special events.

Retirement Open House and Luncheon

In March we provided florals for two retirement events hosted in honor of Barry Fisher (center), the Crime Lab Director for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD). An Open House was held at the new Hertzberg-Davis Forensic Science Center, home to both the LASD and LAPD crime labs, on the campus of CAL State Los Angeles. The Captain and Commander attended, joining those wishing Director Fisher a happy retirement.

Guests were treated to a sumputuous buffet served on silver and crystal.

A large arrangement, elevated by a silver pedastal base, featured submerged cymbidium orchids and underwater LED lighting. Additional feature flowers included dendrobium orchids, calla lillies, hanging amaranthus, curly willow and monstera leaves.

A luncheon was held two days later at the Monterey Hill Restaurant. This is a beautiful venue, featuring stunning views and a garden entrance complete with koi ponds and water falls.

The Grand Ball Room can accomodate 200 guests, and we found the staff to be very professional.

For this event, we designed elegant modern arrangements which included orchids, calla lillies, curly willow and monstera leaves in high luster silver circular vases.

These same flowers were used, in addition to hanging amaranthus, to create the guest book table arrangement in a tall silver fluted vase.

Nearly two hundred people attended the luncheon including the Sheriff of Los Angeles County, Lee Baca.

It was a lovely event and we were happy to be given the opportunity to participate in the celebration. We congratulate Director Fisher on his retirement and wish him well!

Stephanie and Thomas

We had the honor of providing flowers for Stephanie and Thomas' wedding that took place on the beautiful grounds of the Green Mountain Ranch in Lytle Creek. Stephanie chose colors of red and white to compliment the Groom's Marine Corp uniform.

The arch arrangement was designed in silk so Stephanie and Thomas could keep it as a keepsake from their wedding day.

Stephanie had two Maids of Honor, who held bouquets of red and white roses, while the Bridesmaids' bouquets were comprised of all white Vendela roses. Stephanie's bouquet was designed with red Freedom roses, which seemed very appropriate for a Marine Corp wedding!
We delivered the bouquets in Blumeboxes, which are eco-friendly, and serve as a way to display the bridesmaids' bouquets on the head table at the reception. The back of each box was decorated with a coordinating ribbon and became vases for the bouquets when needed.

Stephanie and Thomas wanted to incorporate both the American and Marine Corp flags, as well as specially created dogtags with their names and wedding date into the reception arrangements. We constructed a "flag pole" for the center of each arrangement, in which to attach them, and added white alstromeria to red roses.

The cake table overlooked the ceremony site and the lake. The complimentary throw bouquet was a mini bridal bouquet of red Freedom roses.

Another beautiful wedding that we enjoyed being a part of! Thank you Stephanie and Thomas for allowing us to provide wedding flowers for your special day!

Michelle and Andy

Michelle and Andy were married at Green Mountain Ranch, a charming location nestled in the foothills of Lytle Creek. They chose an Old West theme for their wedding, and took advantage of the rustic, natural setting of the old mining camp ranch to compliment their decor. The beautiful photos were captured by Photography by Rhonda McKenney.

Michelle wanted nothing traditional. Instead she chose striking colors of indigo blue and claret red. She also chose music and entertainment for their guests provided by Guns and Garters, a theatrical group who specializes in the Old West. The group reenacted western themed skits, played fiddle music for the processional, and provided important education about gun safety with the use of theatrical blanks. The long arm of the law even got Andy to the wedding on time, as guests watched the Sheriff and his Deputies corral the Groom down to the alter, shotguns in tow! The guests were also encouraged to dress for the occasion, and it was as though everyone had stepped back in time to the Gold Rush days!

We decorated the Lakeside Gazebo and aisle with ivory tulle and dried flower arrangements. Most of the arrangements were in dried flowers to keep an old west feel to the decor.

We also decorated a wagon with dried roses, fragrant lavender,trailing cans, ribbon, and American flags. The wagon was used to transport some little ones down the aisle!

Michelle had chosen to use dried flowers based upon a photo on a Mothers' Day card that she had received from her son.

We reproduced the heart shaped wreaths from the card, and used them for the aisle arrangements. Then we carried that same theme through the the rest of the arrangements and decor, including the gazebo spray, reception table arrangements, unity candles, and guestbook table.

Even the pen for the guestbook was given a makeover to match the old west themed decor!

The reception table arrangements were made of grapevine wreathes adorned with dried roses, lavender, hydrangea, and plumosa. Inside each wreath was a bronze lantern. The lanterns were of various styles and sizes to add to the rustic charm of the decor. All the tables were covered in natural jute to be reminiscent of old burlap sacks. The fabric really added an authenic Old West feel to the reception, as did the imitation barbed-wire!

The Bride and Maid of Honor had fresh flower bouquets of Vendela roses, two shades of blue delphinium, Gerbera, daisies, and dried lavender. We added red Freedom roses to the Maid of Honor's bouquet to coordinate with her dress of Claret red.

The cake table was finished with daisy-filled miniature Ball jars, faux butterflies, and more imitation barbed-wire. The throw bouquet was a blend of roses, daisies, and delphinium. The unique cake was provided by Cucamonga Cakery in Rancho Cucamonga.

We had so much fun helping Michelle plan her wedding, and then helping to make her dream of an Old West wedding come true. It was one of our favorites!

Katie and Paul

We just returned from Katie and Paul's beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at the lovely Knott's Berry Farm Resort in Anaheim. The amazing photography was captured by Photography by Rhonda McKenney. Rhonda is not only an outstanding photographer, but she has a wonderful rapport with people, and can put even the most camera-shy at ease! We highly recommend her.

The bride and her Mom, Cindy, had chosen fall colors for the event. The gazebo was decorated in swags of white chiffon and accented with organza ribbons of gold, sage, and and rust. Katie wanted an airy hand-tied bouquet with a small cascading front to match the burnt orange fall silk leaves she had found. To coordinate with the leaves, we chose colors of dark red, burgandy, orange and a variety of greens for the floral pieces.

Katie's bouquet was a symphony of color and included green Cymbidium and Dendrobium orchids, dark red Gerbera, Hypericum, orange Roses, Bells of Ireland, yellow snapdragons, and green hanging Amaranthus.

These same flowers were used in the throw bouquet and the table arrangements.
Colorful stones and coordinating votive candles complimented the fall colors.

Jessica's Baby Shower

We were honored to host an Afternoon Tea to celebrate our good friend's first baby. In addition to being a new mom, Jessica is an accomplished vocalist, with a beautiful voice. Her talents have brought joy and inspiration to many events. We highly recommend her to be a part of your special day! You can contact her through our website on Our Friends page.

The flowers we chose for her event were brightly colored Stargazer lilies, Celosia, Statice, Roses, Snapdragons, and Lisianthus. We designed the flowers in pink Blumeboxes with a coordinating green paisley band. Blumboxes are eco-friendly and come in a variety of colors, and can be customized to match any style. Jessica's corsage included white Roses and Alstroemeria, and was accented with baby pink faux pacifiers.

Fragrant Stargazer Lilies in a tall fluted silver vase graced the buffet table of tea sandwiches and scones.
Cellophane bags tied with pink organza ribbon stuffed full of assorted Stash Teas and sqaures of Ghirardelli Chocolate served as guest favors.

The exquisite cake, as well as the fancy chocolate dipped strawberries were provided by Vera Damouni of Vera's Cakes in Old Town Monrovia. Incredible craftsmanship goes into each of Vera's creations and she is extremely attentive to detail, as you can see in every aspect of this soft pink fondant Baby Cake. Each little baby, bottle, buttons and even tiny baby footprints are lovingly made by hand.
Jessica said that this lovely cake made for her baby shower was even more delicious than her own wedding cake! Natasha and Nate

Natasha and Nate were married at the Westlake Hyatt in Thousand Oaks. It was a beautiful wedding in colors of pale yellow, white and pale pink. Natasha's bouquet included pale yellow roses, white roses, stephanotis, white freesias, pale pink tulip, spray roses, Queen Anne's Lace, organza ribbon and pearl loops.

Bridesmaid's bouquets included yellow roses, pink tulips, freesia, and Queen Anne's Lace.

The aisle was lined with tulle draping and accented with arrangements in petite vases suspended from shepherds' hooks by pale yellow ribbons.

Reception table arrangements were placed in silver colored bowls, and included roses, freesias, spray roses, Maidenhair fern and Asiatic lilies.

We adorned the beautiful fondant wedding cake with yellow roses, pale pink tulips, and Maidenhair fern. Although not seen clearly in the photo, the Bride had placed the wedding photos of her parents, and of the Groom's parents as a touching tribute to them.

Rose and Tim

Rose wanted a bouquet of exquisite white Phalaenopsis Orchids, accented with crystals. We hand- made delicate beaded flowers and crystal bouquet stems to accompany the orchids. The Bridesmaid's bouquets were a loose arrangement of Dendrobium Orchids, white Freesia, lavender Lisianthus, and delicate Plumosa.

After the ceremony, which was held at a private residence, the wedding party and guests enjoyed a beautiful reception held at the Royal Vista Country Club, located in Rowland Heights.

Tarra and Brandon

Tarra and Brandon's event was one of the weddings we have done at the victorian Edwards Mansion in Redlands. For those of you who have never been there, the mansion offers a variety of inside and outside locations for your wedding and reception. The chapel is delightful and the gazebo garden next to it is a wonderful place to take photos! The mansion hosts private rooms inside for intimate gatherings, to large white pavilions for large receptions.

Tarra chose red and taupe as her colors. She said she had always dreamed of having a red rose bouquet for her wedding, so we worked to give her exactly that! She made a stunning Bride. The Bridesmaids held bouquets of red and white roses, with a taupe satin wrap.
